  • GS Yuasa Corporation was formed in 2004 as the result of a merger between Japan Storage Battery (JSB) & Yuasa Corporation.  Both companies had a long history in the battery business before the merger.  JSB was founded in 1895, and in the early 90’s JSB began manufacturing Large Format Lithium Ion batteries.  Yuasa was founded in 1913 and by 2004 (Pre-merger) Yuasa had become one of the top powersports and automotive battery manufacturers in the world.  In 2006, GS Yuasa formed GS Yuasa Lithium Power (GYLP) in the United States to bring GS Yuasa’s exceptional lithium ion products to the American market.

Today, GYLP is located in Alpharetta, Georgia.  GYLP currently has an engineering staff with a total of almost 60 years of product development experience in the battery and aerospace fields, and we are still growing.  We have expertise in cells, electronics, and mechanical engineering.  Currently we are in the process of expanding our advanced prototyping and test capability for battery and charger products.  GYLP can provide complete support for sales and technical design necessary to offer a complete Li ion Battery System for the client.  GYLP’s cells are currently manufactured in Kyoto, Japan and our system know-how is reinforced by GS Yuasa’s extensive knowledge and experience.
